JELD-WEN UK Limited takes its commitments under the Modern Slavery Act very seriously. As a company, we are committed to conducting business in a lawful, ethical and responsible manner and expect our supply chain partners to share this commitment. Modern slavery and human trafficking are hidden, pervasive crimes, and we all have the responsibility to drive them out of our industry.
It continues to be a priority for JELD-WEN to ensure that we trade ethically, source responsibly and work to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking throughout our organisation and in our supply chain. This statement highlights the key activities we have undertaken during this financial year to combat modern slavery in our organisation and supply chain.

JELD-WEN is a leading global designer, manufacturer and distributor of high-performance interior and exterior doors. Our ultimate parent company is JELD-WEN Holding, Inc., and we are headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina in the United States of America. The JELD-WEN group operates facilities in 16 countries in North America and Europe and employs approximately 18,000 people. Since 1960, the JELD-WEN team has been committed to making quality products that create safe and sustainable environments for customers, associates and local communities. Our UK Structure and Supply Chain
JELD-WEN UK Limited is a major supplier of doors into the UK market, with a focus on major builders, merchants and retailers. Our UK manufacturing operations are based in Sheffield and Penrith, and our European headquarters is located in Solihull in the West Midlands. We also source products from the wider JELD-WEN group in the USA and Europe, and from key suppliers and partners around the world (including China, Thailand, Sweden, Poland, Finland and Estonia).
Our Policies on Slavery and Human Trafficking
JELD-WEN is committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chain or any part of our business. We have appropriate policies and codes in place that underpin these commitments, and these policies and codes are continuously reviewed and updated as necessary.
Our policies reflect our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains. We also have the following policies in place relevant to modern slavery, which we continuously review and update:
- Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
- Supplier Code of Conduct.
In addition, each year JELD-WEN signs two declarations as part its FSC and PEFC certification commitments (both referencing the ILO conventions relating to slave labour). Suppliers of JELD-WEN are asked to sign the JELD-WEN code of conduct which includes strict provision regarding human trafficking and slavery.
Due Diligence Processes for Slavery and Human Trafficking
As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we use a process of supply chain mapping, whereby timber suppliers who are deemed to have a significant risk associated with the country/region of harvest are asked to complete a supply chain map. The supply chain is traced back to the forest source to enable full supply chain transparency. Documents are recorded at each stage to provide evidence that our suppliers are certified and committed to the ILO core conventions.
We also have in place systems to:
- Carry out due diligence on all key suppliers.
- Identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains.
- Mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains.
- Monitor potential risk areas in our supply chains.
- Protect whistle blowers.
Although JELD-WEN UK don’t currently audit timber suppliers, we do have a written policy for EUTR (European Union Timber Regulations) providing permission to audit supplier’s facilities on request.
All employees are expected to work within the requirements of the company policies and procedures. Any employee who suspects or identifies any non-compliance with company policies is required to report it to JELD-WEN’s legal department or to JELD-WEN’s confidential ethics hotline.
Supplier Adherence to Our Values and Ethics
We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. To ensure all those in our supply chain and contractors comply with our values and ethics, all suppliers are required to sign up to our Supplier Code of Conduct. Audits of high-risk suppliers are also conducted where required.
We have a dedicated compliance team, which consists of representatives from the following departments:
- Legal.
- Internal Audit.
- Human resources.
- Procurement and Sourcing.
- Risk Management.
- Sales.
Training
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide regular training to our staff. We also encourage our business partners to provide training to their staff and suppliers and providers.
Steps Taken to eradicate the existence of Slavery and Human Trafficking
JELD-WEN has implemented the following measures:
- Contractual Requirements and Supplier Code of Conduct: we incorporate obligations for our suppliers to comply with the applicable laws and JELD-WEN’s own requirements regarding slavery and human trafficking. We also reserve the right to audit our suppliers against their compliance with these requirements.
- Supplier Selection: When selecting suppliers and partners JELD-WEN assesses their overall ability to work in accordance with applicable laws and with JELD-WEN’s own requirements regarding slavery and human trafficking. We request information from potential suppliers on their approach to slavery and human trafficking and any areas of specific risk.
- Relationships with Suppliers: JELD-WEN actively manages relationships with our key suppliers who, through either contractual requirements or their dealings with us, should be aware of our expectations regarding slavery and human trafficking.
- Values-led Culture: JELD-WEN operates an open culture in which all employees are required to demonstrate and adhere to our company Values, and are actively encouraged to voice any concerns or suspicions they may have.
- Recruitment: JELD-WEN UK Limited carries out strict pre-employment screening on all employees, which includes verification of an individual’s right to work within the UK. This significantly reduces the likelihood of us directly using forced labour.
Whilst the above assists with our goal of eradicating slavery and human trafficking from within our business and those of our supplier chains, we are aware that they do not, and can not, provide absolute certainty that slavery and human trafficking have been removed. Even though we consider ourselves low risk, we will continue to review our processes and practices on a regular basis to ensure ongoing compliance.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2025. It is approved by the JELD-WEN UK Limited board of Directors.
